A Northeast Washington man was sentenced to 60 years in prison Friday for a series of sexual assaults that occurred between 2011 and 2012.

D.C. Superior Court Judge John Ramsey Johnson sentenced Barrington Bennett, 36, in connection with sexually assaulting, robbing and kidnapping four women at knifepoint.

During trial in October, prosecutors argued that Bennett, on four separate occasions, lured women, some of whom worked as prostitutes, into his SUV, where he then robbed and sexually assaulted them. A jury found Bennett guilty of various charges, including first-degree sexual abuse, kidnapping and armed robbery.
