District police have arrested a 28-year-old suspect and charged him with using a shotgun to fatally shoot a man two weeks ago in Southwest Washington’s Bellevue neighborhood.
William Hogan of Oxon Hill, was charged with second -degree murder while armed. Members of the Capitol Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested him in Maryland on Sunday evening. He could be arraigned in D.C. Superior Court on Monday.
D.C. police said Hogan is charged with killing Robert Spencer, 21, of Northeast, about 10:20 p.m. on Sept. 17. The shooting occurred in the 100 block of Irvington St., SW.
The arrest warrant does not detail a motive, but says a witness saw the suspect — known as “Goose” — shoot Spencer ina courtyard.
The court document states that the suspect pointed the shotgun at another person who was hiding behind a tree, but did not shoot. The witness told police that the suspect told the victim, “What’s all that you saying?”
