D.C. police arrest two in fatal shooting of Alexandria man

Two men were arrested Wednesday and charged in the death of a 38-year-old man from Alexandria on Sunday in Southeast Washington, according to a D.C. police spokesman.

Michael Hight, 22, and James Young, 21, both of Southeast, were each charged with felony murder while armed. They were being held Thursday pending an initial appearance in D.C. Superior Court.

The shooting occurred shortly after 7 a.m. in the 2500 block of Pomeroy Road SE, a short distance off Suitland Parkway. D.C. police said Willard Carlos Shelton was found wounded, and he died at an area hospital that same day.

Police did not disclose a motive.
