District police and fire officials evacuated a Northwest Washington apartment building in Columbia Heights on Tuesday afternoon after someone called to report an alleged drug lab there, according to authorities.

The building is located in the 1300 block of Clifton Street NW, near Cardozo Senior High School. Police closed that block of Clifton, as well as southbound 13th Street between Euclid and Clifton streets Northwest.

Police said that about 3:45 p.m. a resident called to report finding “what appears to be drug making materials.” Authorities would not characterize the type of alleged drugs.
