D.C. police have identified the man who was found shot and mortally wounded inside a car that had crashed in northwest D.C. Wednesday as 24-year-old Roshaine Henry, authorities said Saturday.
A D.C. police spokesman said investigators have not identified any suspects or determined a motive in Henry’s killing, though they are continuing to probe the somewhat unusual incident.
Police have said they found Henry in the back seat of the car, after someone called just before 8 p.m. to report a crash in the 900 block of Madison Street NW, a residential area not far from a strip of businesses on Georgia Avenue. Investigators determined that Henry had been shot about three blocks away, in the 1200 block of Madison Street NW, before the car he was in crashed into several parked vehicles.
Henry, whose address police said they did not know, was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
