D.C. police investigate shooting that left one man dead on Florida Ave. NE

A shooting early Sunday morning in Northeast Washington has left one man dead, authorities said.

D.C. police answered a call for the sound of gunshots about 3:29 a.m. near the 400 block of Florida Avenue NE, Officer John Strader said. When police arrived, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds in his back.

Officials are looking for a gray, four-door Chevrolet Impala in connection with the case, Strader said. There were four people in the car, but no information on their ages, gender or race is available. A suspect description is also not yet available.

The name and details of man who was shot has not yet been released as police work to notify his family.
