D.C. police investigating reported sexual assault at Wilson Aquatic Center

District police are investigating a complaint that a woman was beaten and sexually assaulted at the Wilson Aquatic Center in Northwest Washington’s Chevy Chase neighborhood.

Few details were immediately released. Detectives had spent most of the day at the pool, adjacent to Woodrow Wilson High School. The alleged assault occurred Monday night, police said.

In a statement, D.C. police said, “We are investigating an allegation of a possible assault.” Authorities said the woman is an adult.

Two police officials said the woman told detectives that a male employee of the pool is responsible. A spokesperson for the D.C. Department of Recreation and Parks could not immediately be reached.

The woman’s uncle told WRC-TV that the woman had come to the pool for an after-hours party and that after the attack, the man drove her back home to Prince William County.
