Jonathan Wesley Wright , a 25-year-old Dumfries resident, died after suffering injuries he sustained from being thrown from a motorcycle crash in Fairfax.
The crash happened just before 3 p.m. Monday when two motorcycles were traveling fast headed south on Route 123 near the intersection of Clifton Road, according to Fairfax County Police. One of the motorcycles passed in front of a box truck that was going north on Route 123 and trying to turn left onto Clifton Place.
Wright, who was on another motorcycle and driving in the left lane, tried to pass the behind the truck but struck its left rear side. Police said he was thrown from this 2013 Ducati and suffered life-threatening injuries.
He was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital where he later died. No one else was injured in the crash.
Police said the investigation into the crash is ongoing and no charges have been placed at this time.
