Fatal crash in Prince William on Saturday night leaves one man dead

Virginia State Police are investigating a crash that left one man dead Saturday night, authorities said Sunday.

Police said a 2006 Dodge Caravan was traveling north on Interstate 95. As the driver took the exit 156A ramp in Prince William County, the van ran off the right side of the road, struck a ditch and rode an embankment for about 200 feet before overturning onto its roof, shortly after 10 p.m. Saturday.

The driver, 46-year-old Bruce L. Dickerson of Fredericksburg, Va., was found dead at the scene, police said. The exit ramp was closed for about three hours, police said.

Dickerson was wearing a seatbelt, police said. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
