Four men were wounded Wednesday night in an attack of gunfire in the Lincoln Heights area of Northeast Washington, D.C. police said. One of the men was found unconscious at at the scene, and was said to have been wounded critically.
Officers responded to the report of a shooting near the intersection of 46th Place and Central Avenue about 9:30 p.m., said Officer Paul Metcalf, a spokesman.
The other three victims were conscious and breathing, Metcalf said.
The District has been struck by a rash of violence in recent days. Since Friday night, at least 18 people have been shot, one of them fatally. That includes those who were wounded on Wednesday night.
