Hospital worker is charged in rape of patient

A hospital worker in Arlington County has been arrested and charged with raping a patient in the emergency department, police said.

According to Arlington police, Roy Anthony Jones, 30, of Washington was working as a CT scan technician at Virginia Hospital Center when the sexual assault occurred.

Deputy Police Chief Dan Murray said that the victim, a 37-year-old woman, contacted authorities shortly after the assault occurred in the early morning of Jan. 13.

Detectives worked with hospital administrators to narrow the list of suspects before arresting Jones, who was being held at the county jail without bond.
