A 39-year-old Howard County man has been arrested in connection with a string of more than 30 burglaries at Subway restaurants across the region, Fairfax County police said.

Detectives arrested Desmond Woodson about 1 a.m. Monday on the premises of a Subway on Georgia Avenue in Montgomery County, police said.

The string of burglaries began in November 2013 and occurred at stores in Howard, Montgomery and Fairfax counties and the City of Alexandria during that period, police said.

Woodson was charged with nine counts of burglary and nine counts of grand larceny in Fairfax County, where police believe 15 Subways were burglarized. Woodson is being held in the Howard County jail.
