A 24-year-old man has been charged with first-degree murder in a July 4 stabbing in Gaithersburg that detectives believe was sparked by an argument, Montgomery County police said Saturday.
Pavel S. Ivanov, of North Potomac, is accused of stabbing 22-year-old Bryan Robert Hall multiple times in a parking lot in the 900 block of Curry Ford Lane. Ivanov and Hall had agreed to meet after Hall had texted a girl Ivanov was seeing, and that meeting escalated into an argument, said Capt. Paul Starks of the Montgomery County Police Department.
Officers were called to the scene about 2:30 a.m. Friday, police said. Hall, of Gaithersburg, was taken to a local trauma center where he died of his wounds.
Officers arrested Ivanov later Friday morning.
Ivanov is currently being held without bond. The case is under investigation.
