Man dies after crash, apparent shooting in DC

District police called to an accident in Northwest Washington on Wednesday night found an overturned car and unconscious man inside who apparently had been shot, authorities said.

The man was transported to a hospital, where he died, said Officer Hugh Carew, a spokesman for the department.

Police were called to the scene in the 900 block of Madison Street NW, near Georgia Avenue, shortly before 8 p.m., Carew said. The sequence of the car crash and the shooting was not immediately clear.
