Man dies in Montgomery County vehicle crash

An 54-year-old man from Upper Marlboro was killed early Sunday in a single-vehicle crash on New Hampshire Avenue near the Triadelphia Reservoir in northeastern Montgomery County, police said.

George Anthony Veney was driving southbound in a 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer when, for unknown reasons, the car veered into the northbound lane near the intersection of Greenbridge Road, struck a tree and flipped, police said. Officers responded to the scene at about 1:48 a.m. No one else was in the vehicle.

The crash remains under investigation.
