Man is shot to death in Germantown; Killing is 2nd homicide in Montgomery in two days

A man was shot and killed Tuesday night in the Germantown area of Montgomery County, authorities said.

County police said the shooting was reported just after 10 p.m. on Drumcastle Court.

The shooting occurred about 24 hours after a homicide was reported in the Norbeck neighborhood of Silver Spring, more than 10 miles away from the scene of Tuesday’s shooting.

In Monday’s incident, a man was found dead in a driveway with what was described only as trauma. Police connected the incident to the arrival Monday night of a man at a hospital with what were reported as gunshot wounds.

No arrests were reported after the Monday night incidents.

Two homicides on successive nights are highly unusual in Montgomery.

In Tuesday night’s shooting, police released a description of a possible suispect. He was described as black, with a medium build, wearing an overcoat, and a pair of dark, green, baggy pants.

Drumcastle Court is a residential street of two- or three-story townhouses with wooden decks. The buildings sit behind lawns and trees and are near the intersection of Germantown and Frederick Roads.
