Man killed in car crash in Fort Washington

Police said a man was killed after the BMW he was driving was struck by another vehicle along Indian Head Highway in Fort Washington.

The crash occurred around 2:40 a.m. Monday when a man driving a Cadillac, traveling southbound on Indian Head Highway near East Swan Creek Road, crossed into oncoming traffic and struck the BMW.

The driver of the BMW was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to Prince George’s County Police. The driver of the Cadillac had serious but non life-threatening injuries.

Indian Head Highway in that area was closed until 8 a.m. as investigators were on the scene.

Police did not release the names of those involved at this time, pending the notification of relatives.
