Man shot, killed Saturday morning a few blocks from D.C.’s Union Station

A man was shot and killed early Saturday in a Northwest Washington neighborhood a few blocks from Union Station, the Georgetown University Law Center and one of the city’s largest homeless shelters.

Police identified the victim as Talbert Mitchell Bright and said they knew of no permanent address for him.

He was shot near Second Street and Massachusetts Avenue NW about 2:45 a.m., said Officer Paul Metcalf, a police spokesman.

Nothing could be learned about what led to the shooting, and police had no information about any suspects.
