Man shot, killed in Southeast D.C.

An adult male was shot and killed Tuesday afternoon in Southeast Washington, near an apartment complex skirting Suitland Parkway, according to a D.C. police spokesman.

Officer Paul Metcalf said police responded about 2:30 p.m. to the 2400 block of Elvans Road, SE., just off Stanton Road, and found a victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

“He was unconscious and not breathing,” Metcalf said, and was pronounced dead at the scene. The spokesman said the death is being investigated as a homicide.

Police released no other details, including the age of the victim or where on the body he had been struck. No arrests were made, and police said they had no description of the shooter.
