Man stabbed to death in Woodbridge

Prince William County police have detained a suspect in a stabbing that left a man dead in Woodbridge Friday.

Officers were called to the scene in the 1900 block of Darlington Loop around 1:10 p.m., said Officer Jonathan Perok, a spokesman for the Prince William County police. A man was found lying on a sidewalk with a stab wound and was pronounced dead.

Police are withholding the man’s name, pending the notification of next of kin.

Perok said officers took a man into custody in the slaying, but they are not identifying him since he has not been charged yet.

Authorities said the men were acquaintances, but the motive for the killing is still under investigation. Perok said there is no threat to the public.
