Montgomery police probe ‘suspicious death’ of man found on shoulder of Capital Beltway

Montgomery County detectives are investigating what police termed a “suspicious death” Tuesday after a man’s body was found on the right shoulder of the Capital Beltway in Silver Spring.

County police were called to the scene at 9:22 a.m., said Angela Cruz, a police spokeswoman. Police said the body was not inside a car, and was on the right side of the inner loop, between the Georgia Avenue and Colesville Road exits. As of 4 p.m., investigators still did not know the identity of the victim.

Police declined to comment on what kind of visible injuries the man may have suffered. They said they will provide more information after an autopsy is completed by the Maryland Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
