An off-duty D.C. police officer shot a woman who confronted him early Sunday with a shotgun at his home in Prince George’s County, the county police said.
Preliminary investigation suggested that the officer had just arrived at his home on Hope Drive in the Temple Hills area when a woman approached who had a shotgun and “made demands,” in what was described as an attempted armed robbery, the county police said.
The officer shot the woman, who then fled in a car, police said. Later, a woman who went to a hospital in the District with gunshot wounds was linked to the Prince George’s incident, county police said.
They said the woman’s wounds were not life-threatening, but she remained hospitalized late Sunday.
Details of the demands made to the officer remain under investigation, said Officer Nicole Hubbard, a county police spokeswoman.
