Police said a drive-by shooting at a basketball court Sunday afternoon in Prince George’s County left one person dead and several others injured.

Authorities are investigating the 3 p.m. shooting near Ardmore Recreation Center in Springdale, said Lt. Brian Waters, a spokesman for Maryland-National Capital Park Police.

Waters said shots were fired from a car that pulled up to the center’s basketball court. Four people were shot; one died, another was in critical condition and two others had non-life-threatening injuries, he said.

Waters said at the time of the shooting, a family reunion was being held inside the recreation center. He said no one inside was injured.

Further details were not immediately available.
