D.C. fire officials now say that no one was taken to a hospital Thursday after fire burned through the second floor of an apartment building in Northwest D.C., city fire officials said. They initially said that one person had been injured.
However, three people were evaluated at the scene in the 1400 block of Belmont Street about 6 p.m., said Tim Wilson, a spokesman for the fire and emergency services department.
Residents from 16 apartments will be displaced due to fire damage, Wilson said. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Police blocked traffic in the 2400 block of 14th Street as firefighters extinguished the blaze which burned on the second floor of the building.
