A man was critically injured early Thursday when he was struck by a Metrobus at Dupont Circle, according to D.C. police and a spokesman for Metro.
The incident occurred a few minutes after midnight at Connecticut Avenue and O Street Northwest. D.C. police said the bus was being driven north when it struck the man, who had run into its path from between two parked cars.
Dan Stessel, a Metro spokesman, said the man was not in a crosswalk. He said the driver and passengers aboard the bus were not injured. The victim was being treated at an area hospital.
