Pedestrian struck in District Heights dies

Prince George’s County Police said they are investigating an accident that left a 31-year-old pedestrian dead in District Heights.

Ahmaad Sarod Henderson of the 3500 block of 56th Street in Cheverly was struck Monday at around 9:40 p.m. by a vehicle that was traveling in the westbound lanes of Pennsylvania Avenue near Parkland Drive. Prince George’s County Police said Henderson was “in the roadway” and was “not in a crosswalk.”

The driver stayed on the scene and was treated for minor injuries.

Henderson was transported to an area hospital where he later died after suffering what police called critical injuries.
