Police arrest man in fatal Barry Farm shooting

D.C. police on Wednesday arrested a suspect in last week’s fatal shooting of a 35-year-old man in Southeast Washington’s Barry Farm neighborhood, authorities said.

Gregory Allen Green, 25, of Southeast, was charged with first-degree murder while armed. He was arrested by the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force.

Police said Green shot Derrick Eugene Williams, also of Southeast, on March 29. The shooting occurred about 12:30 a.m. in the 1200 block of Eaton Road Southeast, a few blocks from the Anacostia Metro station. Williams was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Authorities did not disclose a motive.
