Police say robbery victim struck, critically injured alleged robber with tow truck

A tow truck driver who was the target of an attempted robbery in Northeast Washington Tuesday afternoon struck and critically injured one of the alleged robbers, according to D.C. police.

Few details were immediately released of the incident, which occurred shortly after 1 p.m. in the 1300 block of Kenilworth Avenue NE. Police said it was near the tow truck driver’s lot.

D.C. police would only confirm they are investigating a robbery and an accident involving a pedestrian, and that the pedestrian is one of the alleged robbers.

No arrests had been made as of Tuesday afternoon. It was not immediately clear what happened to the second alleged robber.
