Police want to question man about October slaying in Southeast Washington

District police have released a video of a man described as a person of interest in the fatal shooting of a 23-year-old man in Southeast Washington last month.

The video shows the man fighting with another man and taking a boxing stance. Police did not say if the person with whom the man is fighting is the 23-year-old man who was shot to death.

The homicide victim has been identified as William Dean Howard, of Southeast Washington. Howard was shot several times about 11:15 p.m. on Oct. 26 in the 3000 block of Stanton Road. A woman who was with Howard also was shot, police said, but she survived.

Anyone with information about the shooting or the identity of the person of interest is urged to call D.C. police at 202-727-9099 or text the department’s tip line at 50411. Police are offering a reward up to $25,000 to anyone whose information leads to an arrest and conviction.
