Pr. George’s police make arrest in Upper Marlboro shooting that left one dead

Prince George’s County police arrested 20-year-old Ronte Travell Muhyee, who is accused of shooting two men, killing one and critically injuring another, early Saturday morning in Upper Marlboro.

Muhyee faces multiple charges related to the shooting, including murder, attempted murder and assault.

Police say Muhyee shot two men after a confrontation near the 9600 block of Marlboro Pike.

Police were called to the scene about 10:15 a.m. Douglas Antonio Romero Argueta, 29, a maintenance worker from Gaithersburg, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other victim was taken to a nearby hospital where he remains in critical but stable condition.

A witness who followed Muyhee after he fled the scene was able to direct police to him. Police made the arrest later that day and also found a gun that they believe may be related to the shooting.
