Pr. George’s police search for man suspected of robbing Bowie bank dressed as a woman

A cross-dressing robber may have hit a Bowie bank on Friday, authorities said.

Prince George’s County police are looking for a man detectives suspect was dressed as a woman as he robbed a bank on May 23, authorities said.

The robber entered a TD Bank in the 4300 block of Collington Road at about noon May 23 and suggested to a teller that he had a weapon, police said. The teller then gave the man an undisclosed amount of cash, and the man left, police said.

In surveillance photos, the suspect is shown walking out of the bank doors wearing a skirt and scarf while holding a purse.

Police are offering up to $1,000 for anyone with information that could lead to an arrest and indictment in the case. Police are asking anyone with information to call 301-772-4905 or, to remain anonymous, call 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).
