Prince William County police arrested a 29-year-old Gainesville man in connection with a fatal hit-and-run incident.

The man, Allan Gordon Nock of Vint Hill Road, was taken into custody Monday night and charged with hit and run resulting in injury or death, a police spokesman said Tuesday.

Authorities believe Nock was involved in a 2:49 a.m. crash Monday that killed a 36-year-old man in Nokesville. Authorities said the man, identified as Ross Damon Adams of no fixed address, was walking along Vint Hill Road near Broadlands Road when he was struck by a vehicle.

Crash investigators found a 2001 Oldsmobile Bravada parked about three miles away in the 15600 block of Vint Hill Road, according to a police department press release. The Bravada looked as if it had been involved in a crash and the release said investigators determined that it was the vehicle that struck Adams.

Police said Nock was driving the Bravada at the time of the collision. According to the release, speed does not appear to be a factor in the hit-and-run.

Nock is being held on a $25,000 bond, police said. A court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 19.
