Prince George’s County police have identified a body found Saturday morning on the Anacostia River Trail as Everett Robert Brown. His death has been declared a homicide.
Brown, 20, of Cottage Terrace in Brentwood, was pronounced dead shortly after Maryland-National Capital Park Police officers responded to a call reporting an unconscious man on the trail about 6:45 a.m. Saturday. A person walking a dog discovered the body about 400 yards from Bladensburg Road.
Lt. Brian Waters, a spokesman for the Maryland-National Capital Park Police, said Brown suffered from “upper body trauma” prior to the official cause of death being released as gunshot wounds.
Prince George’s County police are investigating and are offering a $25,000 reward for any information leading to an arrest and indictment in the murder. Anyone with information is asked to call 301-772-4925 or Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS.
