Prince George’s County police said a murder suspect who has been on the run for five years has been caught in Texas.

Police arrested 34-year-old Efrain Antonio Osorio on Nov. 7 after Prince George’s authorities got a tip that Osorio was living under an assumed identity in Texas. Osorio has been wanted in connection with the 2008 fatal shooting of 50-year-old Rigoberto Rouqu Portela.

Portela reportedly died after a dispute with people he knew and was shot in a Langley Park apartment building, according to old news reports.

Texas law enforcement arrested Osorio after a call from Prince George’s police. Osorio is awaiting extradition to Prince George’s County.
