Man wounded in Temple Hills shooting

An altercation between two groups of men in the parking lot of a Temple Hills grocery store ended when one man was shot in the arm and taken to a hospital, police said.

Officers received a call for a shooting in the parking lot of Jumbo Food, an international grocery store, at about 1:30 p.m., said Cpl. Nate Lewis, a spokesman for Prince George’s County police.

A verbal fight escalated into a physical one, with at least one gun fired, Lewis said.

“We have no idea what lead up to the altercation,” Lewis said.

The man who was wounded was taken to a hospital by a friend and is in stable condition, Lewis said.

Lewis said detectives are still looking for suspects in the case and collecting surveillance video from the scene.

“We don’t expect to have a shooting in broad daylight,” Lewis said.
