Prince George’s County police searched Tuesdayafternoon for a man who they say sexually assaulted two females, one of them a teenager, after robbing them at gunpoint in separate attacks in the Hyattsville area.

The first incident occurred about 1:15 p.m., when a man followed two women into the woods around Belcrest Road near Northwestern High School, said Officer Nicole Hubbard, a county police spokeswoman.

The man robbed the women at gunpoint and sexually assaulted one of them, Hubbard said.

A few minutes later and a few hundred yards away, the man robbed a group of teenagers, two boys and a girl. He sexually assaulted the girl and ran away.

Police searched for the man with a helicopter and several police dogs.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic man, about 30 years old, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-10 inches tall, with a slim build. Police said he was last seen wearing camouflage pants and a red baseball cap with a black or blue brim.

Anyone with information about the man was urged to call 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).
