Riverdale area man charged with stalking

A suspect was arrested last week and charged with stalking after a girl reported being watched for several days as she waited for her school bus, the Prince George’s County police said. At one point, they said, the man tried to give her a flower.

Police identified the suspect as Narciso Bonilla, 33, of Kenilworth Avenue in the Riverdale area.

They said their preliminary investigation indicated that a man in an car would watch the 13-year-old girl as she waited for the bus in Riverdale. He would beep his horn and wave, the police said.

The man approached and tried to talk to the girl and, on one occasion, according to police, “tried to give her a rose.”

During one of the incidents, police said, the girl ran for help to a local fire station.

On Friday, police said, detectives set up a surveillance operation and “witnessed him stalk the girl.”

Bonilla was charged with stalking and harassment, police said. Online court records indicated that he was released pending an October trial date.
