Eight people shot and wounded in the District Saturday in six incidents that appeared unconnected , D.C. police said.

In the latest incident, a shooting was reported about 9:20 p.m. in the 2800 block of Alabama Avenue SE. The victim’s condition was not known.

In the first of the shootings, a man was wounded around midnight in the 3000 block of 8th Street SE.

About an hour later, and miles away in Northwest Washington, a man was shot in the foot near 3rd and Taylor Streets.

The third of the shootings was reported about 1:30 a.m. in the 2700 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue SE. The victim was described only as a male and an adult. A man was stabbed in the same incident, police said.

About a mile and a half south of that shooting, police said, another shooting was reported around 2 a.m. in the 800 block of Chesapeake Street SE.

After that three men were shot about two miles away in the 100 block of Irvington Street SW.
