A man was killed early Saturday morning in Gaithersburg when his car ran off the road and caught fire after striking a sign and a tree, according to Montgomery County police.

Jorge Arturo Castro, a 26-year-old who lived in Silver Spring, was traveling west on Saybrooke Oaks Boulevard in a 2016 BMW 328i at 4:41 a.m. when the car crashed and subsequently caught fire, investigators said.

Two women in the car, ages 22 and 25, escaped, but were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Castro died at the scene.
