Three gunpoint robberies were reported within an hour Saturday night in Washington neighborhoods east of the Anacostia River.

Descriptions suggested each holdup involved different robbers, but the information was not complete enough to be certain.

The first robbery was reported about 11 p.m. in the 3200 block of 28th Street SE. Police issued an alert for three suspects.

The second robbery was reported at 11:37 p.m. at Congress Street and 11th Place SE. Two robbers were described: one with braids who wore shorts, the other in a dark jacket and jeans.

The third robbery occurred five minutes before midnight in the 2200 block of Martin Luther King Avenue SE. One robber was described in that incident: a bearded, 5-foot-7 man, 24 to 25 years old and wearing a gray hood, jeans and black and gray tennis shoes.Police indicated he fled in a car.
