A large tree trunk rolled onto a worker and killed him outside of an Arlington home as the man tried to load it onto a flatbed truck to remove it from the house Wednesday, county police officials said.
Authorities are investigating the incident as an industrial accident in the 4800 block of Rock Spring Road, where police found a man dead in the driveway of a single-family home about 6 p.m., said Dustin Sternbeck, a police spokesman. The construction worker was trying to secure the log onto a truck when it rolled onto him, he said.
Officials did not immediately identify the man.
The house was under construction and no one was injured. The cause of the accident is being investigated.
