The U.S. Attorney’s Office Friday will be holding its fourth annual Youth Summit program for D.C. area teens in an effort to combat crime and violence.

The program, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Friendship Collegiate Academy, 4095 Minnesota Ave. NE, will gather teens and community leaders to discuss various issues such as the harms of smoking marijuana, criminal behavior and understanding the consequences of violence.

The program is led by U.S. Attorney Ronald C. Machen Jr., with community partners such as D.C. police, the Project Safe Neighborhoods Task Force, the Columbia Heights/Shaw Family Support Collaborative and the East of the River Family Strengthening Collaborative.
