Windows of more than 60 cars broken in Centreville

Fairfax County police are searching for suspects who broke the windows of more than 60 cars in the Centreville area overnight.

Investigators believe that a BB gun was used to shoot out the windows of the vehicles during the early morning hours of Tuesday. Police responded to calls in Penderbrook, Little Run, Rocky Run, Singleton’s Grove, Old Centreville Cross and the Green Trails communities.

The incidents began around 1 a.m., police said.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed unusual or suspicious persons, vehicles or noises in that area to contact them. Crime Solvers can be reached at 1-866-411-8477. Police are also working with neighborhood watch groups to prevent similar cases of vandalism.
