Woman found fatally shot at College Park motel

Prince George’s County police said a woman was shot to death in what they are now calling a murder at a College Park motel.

Police have identified the woman as Catina Cortes, 25, of Far Rockaway, N.Y.

About 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, police were called for a “welfare check” to a Ramada Limited motel in the 9100 block of Baltimore Avenue. When police arrived, they found a woman with an apparent gunshot wound inside a hotel room. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The case is under investigation.

Police initially had few immediate details available about the incident, but last night they said they were investigating it as a murder.
