Woman killed in McLean Crash

A Leesburg woman was killed Wednesday after her car ran a stop sign in McLean and was hit by an oncoming SUV, according to Fairfax County police.

Sow-Hoong Hon was driving a 1999 Honda Accord north on Bellview Road around 1:30 p.m. when she did not stop at the sign at Old Dominion Drive, police said.

A 1999 Toyota Land Cruiser struck the driver’s door of the Honda, police said.

Hon and the driver of the SUV were taken to area hospitals, and Hon, 42, was pronounced dead.

The driver of the SUV had non life-threatening injuries.

Neither speed nor alcohol appear to be factors in the crash, police said.
