Woman sexually assaulted inside Riverdale home

Prince George’s County police are looking for a man who they say broke into an elderly woman’s home Friday night and sexually assaulted her. Flyers handed out Saturday indicated that the woman was in her 90s.

The incident occurred about 9:40 p.m. at a house off Riverdale Road a few blocks west of Route 295, police said. They said the victim, heard a noise in her house, and an intruder grabbed her as she went to see what it was. The intruder then sexually assaulted the woman and ran, police said.

Police described the intruder as a 20-year-old man, about 5 feet, 2 inches tall and weighing about 150 pounds. They said he is Hispanic or Pacific Islander and has dark, curly hair.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Sexual Assault Unit at 301-772-4908.
