A Culpeper County sheriff’s deputy shot and killed a person on Thursday, prompting an investigation by Virginia State Police.
The fatal shooting took place Thursday evening, at a home on Oak Forest Drive in Rapidan, Va., according to a news release.
Two deputies were involved in the incident, but neither was injured, the sheriff’s office said.
No information about the victim’s identity or what led to the shooting has been released. The investigation has been turned over to Virginia State Police.
