Cruelty arrest: 57th St. NE, 200 block, July 18. A District man was arrested on animal cruelty charges.

Felony charges: Mississippi Ave. SE, 1700 block, July 18. A Prince George’s County man was arrested on felony animal cruelty charges.

Kitten rescued: Alabama Ave. SE, 1300 block, July 18. A 5-week-old kitten was removed from a storm drain.

Stuck in box: Wisconsin Ave. NW, 5000 block, July 21. Animal control officers removed a raccoon’s head from a rodent box.

Adoptable cat: Fourth St. SE, 4200 block, Feb. 8. A 1-year-old cat found as a stray was taken to the shelter.

Dog is given up: Arlington, Arlington Blvd., 2500 block, July 18. A woman relinquished a 6-month-old terrier mix to the league.

Orphaned cat: Bowie, Orangewood Lane, 4400 block, July 19. A woman surrendered a 5-year-old cat that belonged to her mother, who had recently died.

Owner relocating: Michigan Ave. NE, 1000 block, July 20. A woman relinquished a 6-year-old Lhasa apso to the league because she was moving.
