D.C. residents who are 16 or 17 years old and have a qualifying medical condition can preregister for a coronavirus vaccination with Children’s National Hospital, District officials said Sunday.

Names will be added to a waitlist to receive the Pfizer vaccine, according to the hospital’s website. No coronavirus vaccines have been approved yet for children younger than 16.

Those on the waitlist will be notified via text when a vaccine is available, the hospital said. A parent or guardian must accompany the teenager to the vaccination appointment to provide consent.
