D.C. police look for group of female muggers in Northeast

Police are looking for a group of women that robbed and beat one victim and tried to rob another in Northeast Washington.

The first incident happened about midnight in the 500 block of Rhode Island Avenue, when five women punched and kicked another woman, then stole her iPhone and bag, said Officer Araz Alali, a D.C. police spokesman.

Two hours later, and less than a half mile away, three women pushed a man against a wall in the 600 block of Edgewood Street and demanded his valuables, Alali said. But they did not take anything from him.

Alali said police believe the incidents are related.
